Pilgrimage of Mercy from Divine Mercy Shrine i Keysborough/Melbourne to Western Australia

Pilgrimage in the year of the 20th anniversary of entrusting the world to God's Mercy by St. John Paul II. The first pilgrimage to Perth has just come to an end. The Message of Divine Mercy travels with the faithful from the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Keysborough not for the first time.

A few years ago, three fruitful pilgrimages to Mexico took place, resulting in a spiritual relationship between Our Church and the churches in Guadalupe, Puebla and Taxco. The most valuable, however, was the unifying joy of traveling together.

And this time the organizational talent of Richard Hodowany did not disappoint anyone. Our spiritual guide Father Kamil, Sister Marietta and Sister Malgorzata together with Richard took care of all the needs of the soul and body. The main mission of this pilgrimage was to offer the Bell of Hope to the Divine Mercy  Church in Lower Chettering, which is located about 80 km north of Perth. The bell funded by the pilgrims will remind of the only hope for the world, which is God's Mercy.

The pilgrims visited the Benedictine Abbey in the picturesque land of New Norcia, Basilica in Fremantle, the magnificent Perth Cathedral , the church in Maylands, where another Polish community works efficiently. Daily Masses, prayers recited together and time for contemplation in the beautiful surroundings of historic temples and landscapes of Western Australia were touching and enjoyable.

An unforgettable impression on the pilgrims was made by the visit to the desert park of Pinnacles, which, as Father Kamil put it, "is another proof of the wonderful fantasy of God's Creation."       Mariola Stanikowska
